Message from the President

Hi everyone. A successful and event filled summer has come to an end. We had a strawberry luncheon, a bbq, and a couple of great bus trips and we’re planning even more for the fall and winter season. Many of our events are subsidized by Birkdale Seniors to keep our costs to you as low as possible. And without our volunteers, we could not function at our events, so a big Thank You to all of them. We had an excellent seminar with City Councilor Michael Thompson who presented our seniors with the Senior’s Action Plan, which involved an interactive conversation with the Councilor and his team. We also discussed issues affecting seniors in our community. The Councilor was well received, and we had a positive and constructive forum. If you wish to discuss the forum with the Councilor, his phone number is 416 397 9274. As we enter the fall season, your Birkdale Seniors Board is planning more lunches, bazaars, and trips. Watch the board at the front desk as we announce new events. And don’t forget to register for any of Birkdale’s programs. Thank you.
